The show and sale will feature Artreach members’ work created in weekly visual arts The Community Foundation of Eastern Connecticut announces 18 grants made through the Connecticut Social Equity Council’s (SEC) Community Reinvestment Pilot Program, an initiative to reinvest revenues from the State’s new adult-cannabis industry in communities that have been disproportionately impacted by the “war on drugs.” In Eastern Connecticut, the SEC’s Disproportionately Impacted Areas (DIAs) of focus are New London, Norwich, and Willimantic/Windham.
“We are thrilled to have been selected and Award-winning journalist Julio Ricardo Varela will produce a “Latino Rebels Radio” podcast focused on neuro-inclusivity, belonging and radical hospitality as a social justice movement in conversation with Mitchell College students on Fri., Sept. 22, 1–2:30 p.m. in the Weller Center at Mitchell College. The public is invited to attend.
Six Mitchell student guests will share personal stories of the joys and challenges they experience attending a college committed to embracing and celebrating difference.
Artreach, Inc. is pleased to present a workshop production of a new play that explores racial disparity in mental health and healthcare on Friday, September 22 at 7:30 pm and Saturday, September 23 at 2:00 pm. We ask you for your help spreading this news to interested members of our The Community Foundation of Eastern Connecticut has been awarded a $1 million grant from the Connecticut Social Equity Council (SEC) to support a Community Reinvestment Pilot Program, part of a $6 million reinvestment program. This funding is to be used for the purposes of developing, expanding, and supporting programs that uplift communities in Disproportionately Impacted Areas (DIA) and strengthening families impacted by the “War on Drugs”.

The Community Foundation of Eastern Connecticut awarded more than $758,000 in scholarships to 309 students from across the region this year, an increase of 26 individual scholarships and over $33,000 in total awards from 2019.

The Community Foundation of Eastern Connecticut announces that the “Request for Proposal” (RFP) for the Neighbors for Neighbors Fund will be open on Monday, April 27, 2020. Grants from this fund are available to organizations serving the basic needs of residents of the Foundation’s 42-town region.
The Community Foundation of Eastern Connecticut created the Neighbors for Neighbors Fund (The Fund) in response to the coronavirus pandemic. The Fund is jointly administered with the United Ways of The Community Foundation of Eastern Connecticut (CFECT) announced the following three actions to address the impact of COVID-19 on residents of Eastern Connecticut:
1. Immediate relief: Disbursement of $403,500 in grants to 24 organizations addressing the basic needs of residents of southeastern Connecticut.
These grants were fast-tracked through CFECT’s regular regional competitive grants cycle and made possible by existing donor funds at CFECT. The grants are aimed at building the capacity of New London City Officials, School District, Community Foundation Pull Together to Preserve Health and Safety of Residents The City of New London is taking a collaborative and unified approach in coordination with community partners and regional health officials to slow the spread of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and preserve the health and safety of residents and public employees as the pandemic runs its course. The City’s response plan has featured an unprecedented collaborative and coordinated effort, The Community Foundation of Eastern Connecticut’s Northeast and Southeast Women and Girls Funds has awarded The Arc Eastern Connecticut $2,500 and $3,500, respectively, to augment and expand its successful “Voices” program for women with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in both New London and Windham counties. As an integral part of this strategy, the Community Foundation provides grants to support Higher The Community Foundation of Eastern Connecticut has awarded $10,000 to assist with the planned merger of The Arc Quinebaug Valley and The Arc New London County, forming The Arc Eastern Connecticut as of July 1. Through the Millard R. York Fund, the grant will help offset the cost of conducting the necessary due diligence and consolidation of accounts, property, and vehicles in an agency that will now support over 800 people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families throughout
